Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is responsible for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of all City of Hollister Infrastructure. The Department consists of three sections – Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, and Utilities.

General Section Descriptions:

Engineering
The Engineering Section provides engineering and inspection of the City’s capital improvement projects and developer-initiated public improvement projects, as well as reviews, approves, and inspects street permit work, and provides engineering assistance to all other City departments.

Operations and Maintenance Section
Responsible for maintenance of streets, storm drainage facilities, buildings and grounds, parks, and the City fleet, which also handles the Street Sweeping service.

Utilities Section
Responsible for water and sewer collection system planning, operations, and maintenance. Water and wastewater billing information is available from the City Finance Department.
