On Saturday, HPD officers and Hollister Code Enforcement officers conducted an operation in the San Benito Riverbed aimed at contacting homeless persons and connecting them with resources. This event was scheduled prior to the fire that occurred under the San Juan Road Bridge last week. In all, we contacted 24 encampments, provided education to the subjects we contacted & handed out flyers for the homeless shelter. We posted “no trespass” signs, and coordinated with the shelter for open beds. We hope that these operations help ensure a greater measure of safety for the community. ... See MoreSee Less

The Hollister City Council is seeking applications for the new Art and Culture Commission!This Commission was established on February 16, 2021, and will advise the City Council on all matters affecting the culture of the city, and to advise and assist other city boards and commissions in the field of the fine arts. Commissioners will undertake and carry out all functions reasonably necessary to accomplish the objectives and to discharge the functions of the commission; and to exercise such other functions as may be set by the City Council. In addition, members will establish an effective liaison between the city and local cultural and artistic groups.If you are 18 or over, and a resident of the City of Hollister, we welcome you to apply.
