City Seeking Applicants for At-Large Resident Vacancies

The City of Hollister is seeking applications to fill three vacant positions on the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) to represent members of the public.  Interested candidates must be Hollister residents and should generally be available on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  At this time, meetings are held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fill out this application and return to the City Clerk’s Office by Friday, March 5, 2021 at 4 pm. Applications can be mailed or dropped off at 375 Fifth Street, Hollister, CA 95023.  Application materials may also be submitted as a pdf via email to cityclerk@hollister.ca.gov. The City Council anticipates ratifying the new GPAC members at the Monday, March 15, 2021 Council meeting.

City Council of the City of Hollister is accepting applications for Airport Advisory, Art & Cultural, Parks & Recreation Commissions, and General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) for City Residents.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Hollister is accepting applications for the following:

Airport Advisory Commission

City Council is seeking applications from residents residing in District 1, District 3, and District 4.  In addition, one seat which is appointed by the Mayor, whose applicants must reside within city limits.  All Commissioner terms coincide with their corresponding Council Member terms.

The role of the Airport Advisory Commission is to study and make recommendations on matters relating to current and future need for services to both the general public and aviation community at the airport. The Commission considers the long range plans for the development and improvement of the Airport with appropriate consideration of the City General Plan and the Airport Master Plan, and serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on all aviation and airport matters.

Art & Cultural Commission

City Council is seeking applications from residents residing in District 1, District 2, District 3, and District 4.  In addition, one seat which is appointed by the Mayor, whose applicants must reside within city limits.  All Commissioner terms coincide with their corresponding Council Member terms.

The Commission will advise the City Council on all matters affecting the culture of the city and to advise and assist other city boards and commissions in the field of the fine arts. Commissioners will undertake and carry out all functions reasonably necessary to accomplish the objectives and to discharge the functions of the commission; and to exercise such other functions as may be set by the City Council.  In addition, members will establish an effective liaison between the city and local cultural and artistic groups.

Parks & Recreation Commission

This Commission serves as advisory board to the City Council in order to promote, achieve, and ensure adequate and comprehensive policies, programs, services, and facilities for the City of Hollister.  The City of Hollister is looking for one (1) seat from District 4.  All Commissioner terms coincide with their corresponding Council Member terms.

General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) for City residents.

This Committee serves as an advisory body to the City Council to provide important input and guidance for the City of Hollister General Plan update.  The City of Hollister is looking for three (3) Committee members from the public to serve until the City of Hollister General Plan update has been adopted.  GPAC Applications must include a cover letter and resume and may be submitted via email to:  cityclerk@hollister.ca.gov
